Whether you’re a Detroit native or you’re just traveling in for your big day, let us take you on a tour of the city and capture the vibrancy of your love against the backdrop of real Detroit. You won’t be disappointed!
If you’ve ever been to Detroit, you know this is a city like no other. There’s no cookie-cutter downtown here, it’s totally unique and it’s the place we proudly call home. There’s a grittiness about Detroit that we love. It’s hard and edgy, but underneath its reputation and bravado lies an incredible mishmash of cultures and architecture.
It’s a city that provides the most incredible backdrops to every engagement shoot and wedding captured here. And if you’re looking for scenes and places you just won’t find in any other wedding photos, Detroit has them here for you.
Colony Club & Gem Theatre – With multiple location s to suit your plans, you’ll find the perfect place to get married here.
Masonic Temple – A grand and opulent space that won’t fail to amaze.
The Whiskey Factory – A fully functioning distillery, this is an incredible space with quite the history.
Ford Piquette – The birthplace of the Model T and a celebrated automotive site, we love the industrial vibe of this venue.
State Savings Bank – For ultimate grandeur and a lot of stunning marble, this is the place.
The Whitney – This historical mansion is just so beautiful, you can’t fail to fall in love with it.
Historic Fort Wayne – Ever wondered what it might be like to get married in a fort? Well, wonder no more!
The Schvitz – For something entirely unique, what about a historical bathhouse?
The Garden Theater - A historic theater in midtown Detroit, renovated into wedding venue.
There are always some venues that just can’t be categorized. Here are the rest of our favorite Detroit wedding venues in a quick roundup:
Meadow Brook Hall - The historic of the Dodge family, this venue is a must!
Roostertail – A dedicate d event space with glorious views over the water.
The Madison – Formerly a theater, this event venue has a beautiful loft and rooftop space perfect for a modern wedding.
Detroit Yacht Club – For some Mediterranean flair, you can’t beat this spot.
The Fillmore Detroit – A theatrical paradise and definitely amazing for couples who love a little bit of drama.
Shepherd’s Hollow – In amongst the pines, this glass building is so stunning.
Grosse Pointe Yacht Club – The place for the perfect waterside wedding.
Michigan League – Say ‘I do’ i n a space that’s helped nurture many great minds

Bea’s – For something a little different, consider Bea’s cute rooftop space.
El Club – Music fans will love this venue.
The Rust Belt Market – Quirky, artistic and vintage all rolled into one.
If there’s one thing we know, some of the most memorable weddings are ones where the food has been totally on point. And Highlands definitely meets that all-important standard! Pegged as a unique twist on a classic steakhouse, the quality of the food here, along with the amazing hospitality and floor-to-ceiling views over the city, make this venue a really solid choice for your big day. We love the warmth and atmosphere of this place and will always jump at the chance to capture a wedding here.
Hotels can sometimes seem a little samey and like many other spaces. Beautiful, for the most part, but you’ve kind of seen it before, right? Well the Shinola Hotel, in the cent er of downtown Detroit, really is something special and different from anywhere else you might have seen before. It’s a modern, contemporary and artistic space and there’s something to see at every turn. And we totally get serious Wes Anderson vibes when we look at this place. How about that for a unique wedding theme, huh?
In case you hadn’t already figured it out, Henry Ford was a big name around these parts so a lot of our historical spaces, like Lovett Hall, have ties to the industrialist.
The ballroom at Lovett Hall really has the wow factor. Ford hosted some of the greatest names in history at this very spot. With its vaulted ceilings and crystal chandeliers, this place cannot fail to impress.
Looking at history of a different kind now, The Grosse Pointe War Memorial Association is a site that memorializes our military history and counts itself as a central community point for all Michigan residents to gather.
The site dates back to the early 1900s and the home formerly belonged to Russell A Alger, Jr., a politician and businessman. This building and its grounds are just so beautiful and classic, so if that’s a look you’re going for with your special day, you should really check this place out.
Whether you know Detroit like the back of your hand, or you’re new to the city with no idea where to even start looking for a venue, we’ve got your back. Get in touch and let us know how we can help with your Detroit wedding photography!
