Ford Piquette Plant Wedding Detroit MI

Anastasia and Jacob’s wedding was held at the Ford Piquette Plant Museum in Detroit, MI. And we gotta hand it to them, they have some serious style! Anastasia’s wedding day look was quite literally dripping in pearls. And Jacob’s wedding day attire included a fabulously epic velvet suit topped off with a bow tie!

Aside from their legendary wedding day attire, there is just something about Anastasia and Jacob. They have that welcoming vibe, the kind of vibe that lets you know you are in good company. Now take that vibe and translate it to their wedding day and you have one emotional ride filled with tradition, modern decor, hilarious guest speeches, and one unforgettable wedding ceremony under the chuppah.

Anastasia and Jacob didn’t have a wedding party for their big day. Most people might look at this quizzically and say “huh?”. But, for our bride and groom, it honestly made total sense. When they were each getting ready in their respective suites the morning of their wedding, their rooms were filled with their friends and closest family members. Anastasia’s mom helped her put on her great-grandmother’s necklace; the stunning blue one she wore all day! Jacob had multiple sets of hands to help him straighten out his bowtie, which for some reason, just did not want to cooperate. But, no worries, because it all worked out in the end.

Both the bride and the groom were escorted to the chuppah by their parents where they honored the Jewish wedding tradition of 7 steps and 7 blessings. During the ceremony, the officiant also asked long-married couples to stand. A visual representation to Anastasia and Jacob of what a long-lasting, loving marriage looks like. They then drank from a Kiddush cup filled with wine before being announced husband and wife.

Next, Anastasia and Jacob, along with their parents and most cherished family members went on to the final step of their wedding ceremony. The signing of the Ketubah. Their family members formed a half circle around the bride and groom as they held hands and signed the Ketubah. Now that we’ve given you more details on their wedding ceremony, do you see why we said it makes total sense that they didn’t have a wedding party? Anastasia and Jacob were surrounded by a tight-knit family and community of friends, all day, in the most beautiful way.

Now that the wedding ceremony was through, it was time to take to the surrounding streets of Detroit to work our photo magic for Anastasia and Jacob’s Ford Piquette Plant Wedding. This precious time we get to spend alone with our couples is when we put our creative chops to work and provide them with an amazing wedding photography experience. The best part about planning a wedding in Detroit is that a quick step outside is all we need for an unforgettable backdrop. The colorful walls of the city become a place where newlyweds can hold hands and kiss. Brick buildings and traffic lights suddenly look different than they do when you pass them every day. It’s an enigma of the city we will always take advantage of!

When our portraits wrapped, it was time to hit the wedding ceremony at the Ford Piquette Plant Museum. Guests were deep in the enjoyment of cocktail hour and everyone was mixing and mingling with small bites and wine in hand. The toasts and speeches kicked off the merriment, but we loved it when the dance floor opened! Everybody, and we mean every single guest, was up out of their chair, and on the dance floor for the hora. You’ll get to see some of the best moments, in the photos below!
