Glowy Summer Wedding in Traverse City

Want to know a little secret about where to host a wedding in Michigan? Traverse City! No, seriously, Traverse City! It is an insanely amazing destination for weddings in Michigan. Our couple, Emily and Ben, along with their amazingly photographic fur baby planned a wedding in Traverse City at Brengman Brothers Winery. They seriously pulled out all the stops for their summer wedding! Live music? Check! Ice cream truck? Check! Quick outfit change by the bride and antics on the dance floor? Check and check!

It’s hard to put Emily and Ben’s Traverse City wedding into words because it was really just a vibe. Sure, there were heaps of florals and gorgeous thoughtful decor. However, it was just a “you had to be there” kinda thing. So what exactly does that mean? Well for starters, there was scotch in Ben’s suite with his groomsmen before the wedding ceremony. Emily’s getting-ready suite was filled with quick bites, heaps and heaps of laughter, and that photogenic furbaby of hers. You’ll get to see a photo of her below. And we’re telling you, we did not, for one-second pose that little four-legged friend, it was all her!

The amazing thing about Emily and Ben’s Traverse City wedding venue was location, location, location. The exact location was vineyards, sure, but there were also plenty of water views. Perfect for Emily and her crew, who were dressed to the nines in a mix-and-match pink color palette, to get some beautiful portraits by the water. Floral bouquets for the wedding party were strictly baby’s breath. Which is gorgeous on its own, but there was a certain kind of magic behind it. The bouquets blended perfectly with the wedding party’s attire and allowed us to create gorgeous photos that really kept the focus on Emily and her wedding party!

After our photography frolic by the water, it was time to head to the ceremony! An outdoor ceremony awaited Emily and Ben with a larger-than-life baby’s breath wedding arch accenting the space where they became husband and wife. The light at the winery that day played a game of hide and seek with us creating the most beautiful shadows. But, when it was time to work with Emily and Ben on their wedding day portraits in the fields of the vineyard, it was a glow like any other! Absorbing into the fields and reflecting Emily’s long curls, we knew that it was our time to shine (quite literally) and work on an unforgettable wedding photography experience!

The greatest benefit to a Traverse City wedding at a winery? Your fur baby can be cuddled up in your lap during your reception. Did Emily have her long-eared pup in her lap while friends and family shared kind words about her and Ben? Check!
