Beautifully Vibrant Indian Wedding in Michigan

It was a vibrant multi-day Indian wedding celebration in Michigan for Anjana and Vivek. Seriously, this wedding had it all and then some! Anjana and Vivek’s friends and family really showed up and showed out for every single one of their wedding day events. And it all kicked off when the groom rolled up to the Baraat in a Jeep. And we’re not talking about your standard run-of-the-mill Jeep. This thing was fully loaded! It was the perfect way for him to arrive on the scene. During the Baraat there were dances, performances, and drummers. The energy was sky-high and we were excited to see what the evening would bring for Anjana and Vivek’s Sangeet!

The energy, dancing, and celebratory mood didn’t end with the Baraat. The Sangeet arrived with multiple choreographed dances and performances by Anjana and Vivek’s friends and families. There were hilarious speeches for the bride and groom. An amazing, mouth-watering, selection of food, and an on-site henna artist that made sure all of Anjana and Vivek’s guests were wedding day ready. With Anjana and Vivek dressed to kill for the evening, we also worked with them on a portrait session. There are so many beautiful facets to an Indian wedding in Michigan, and, as photographers, we aim to honor each moment. Our goal is to create a photography experience that is relaxed AND vibrant, but authentic to your celebration!

With the Baraat and Sangeet in hand, we could not wait to see what Anjana and Vivek’s wedding ceremony and reception had in store. Getting to see the dynamic of their guests celebrate with anticipation at their pre-wedding events was just the precursor to watching them officially become husband and wife. Their Indian wedding day in Michigan had finally arrived and all systems were go. A beautiful Mandap, adorned with heaps of florals, backlighting, and drapery served as the altar for Anjana and Vivek to be joined.

There were so many moments within their ceremony that played into their story. One of our favorites included an outfit change by Anjana. The bride made a brief ‘disappearance’ before returning to the ceremony in an ornate red lehenga accented with intricate gold detailing and two arms full of vibrant, dazzling bangles. When she made her way back down the aisle, her adorable flower girls made sure there were plenty of red rose petals lining the way. A screen was held up to ‘shield’ Vivek from seeing his bride until she made her debut. When her gorgeous red wedding day look was revealed, Anjana and Vivek exchanged varmala. You can see more of our favorite moments of Anjana and Vivek’s ceremony in the photos below!

Time for the reception right? Not so fast! There was one more outfit change, to kick off the rest of the evening. Anjana changed into a gorgeous white lehenga while Vivek slipped on a suit. But, before that, we captured some photos of the bride and groom with their wedding party. It was a beautiful sea of vibrantly colored lehengas and tunics, but the unmistakable part of the moment was truly the vibe in the air. Smiles, laughter, celebration, and a few obligatory jokes from the groomsmen!

And only then, was it time to arrive at the reception. Heaps of jewel-toned florals with rich colored drapery were really only the beginning because there were chandeliers, everywhere! To tie it all together, tall glass vases contained dimly lit candles that set the scene for an unforgettable evening.
