How much should I budget for an engagement ring in the Detroit area?

There is a (very) old motto that you should save up two months’ worth of your salary to spend on an engagement ring. But the truth is, you should find a price point that you feel comfortable with. If you were to Google this question, the results would throw out an arbitrary number ranging from $4500 to $7500, but honestly, that’s more of the average spend from couples in the area. Keep in mind that pricing will be driven by stone selection and size, setting, and the fine metal of the band, so we suggest setting your budget and finding options that suit your taste instead of setting up the process the other way around.

How would we go about finding our ring size?

Jewelers will use a sizing tool that is slipped over your finger to find your ring size.
