On paper, 2020 was going to be our best year as a business. We had more weddings booked in January, February, and March than we had ever had before. But as March approached, it became pretty clear that this wasn’t going to be a typical wedding season, let alone our busiest yet. 9 weddings in, the world came to a screeching halt. The emails poured in. The juggling act began, not just for us, but for all of our poor couples who’d waited and planned for months, even years, for their perfect, big day. Our hearts went out to them, and we tried to make any changes as easy as possible for them. We had to roll with the punches because everyone’s health and safety was, and still is, what matters most.
Our first wedding back was the last weekend of July. It was a 20 person outdoor Indian ceremony and we did not know what to expect. I remember our anxieties were peaking before the wedding date. But once we were there, I think being able to do the job we love again and working with such a great couple, we both really enjoyed it. As the summer turned to fall, small intimate weddings became the new norm, and we really love them. We’re extremely grateful that we were able to document 28 weddings/elopements this year.
Our heart goes out to all people who were affected by this virus in one way or another and hopefully in 2021 we can put this pandemic behind us and all see each other again. In a year where people could spend little to no time with their loved ones, the little moments seemed to matter so much more. Below are some wedding day moments from 2020.
The photos you see of large gathering were the wedding we photographed before the pandemic.
Two of our 2020 weddings where featured in Metro Detroit Weddings magazine, which you can check out here.
We’re currently booking 2022 weddings in Michigan, Florida, and pretty much anymore in the United States. Don’t forget to check our Wedding Day Gallery and also our Top 25 Detroit Wedding Venue list!
